I love to hear about new Australian subscription boxes and recently an email popped into my inbox about a new men's box called CraftedBox Australia.

CraftedBox Australia offers two subscription boxes.

The monthly subscription which includes:

The bimonthly subscription, which come every two months and are slightly bigger than the monthly subscription. It includes:

  • 4 - 5 fashion accessories

This review is of the monthly subscription, which was kindly sent to me by CraftedBox Australia.

There's also a discount code at the end of the post ;-)

The products

The Wondersnack - Duck Fat & Maple Salty Peanuts (aka The Hangover Bar Snack)
Sample size 60 grams
Sample value $4.38

Yum and definitely something men would like. My fiance was pretty impressed.

Hank in Chief - Pocket Chief in Lionel
Valued at $15

Don't you love it when a brand just makes you smile? That's how I feel about Hank in Chief and their range of beautiful bow ties and pocket chiefs. I'm tempted to buy my fiance a matching tie and pocket chief, just because they are so gorgeous! Hank in Chief also has a wedding blog with photos of their swish bow ties at real life weddings.

Pure Nourish Rice Bran Soap by Live Organic Australia
Sample size 90 grams
Valued at $5.99

This is a nice soap and we both like it. Hooray!

Soxy Beast socks in Botanical
Valued at $20

This month's box includes some socks from Soxy Beast. Soxy Beast is my favourite Australian sock subscription. I love that they also give to a charity every month. You can read my previous reviews about Soxy Beast here.

Cuff links and collar stays
$20 guesstimation

I'm not sure if we will get much use out of these but we will see ;-)

How much does it cost?

CraftedBox Australia costs:

  • $42.95 for a monthly subscription
  • $52.95 for a bimonthly subscription
  • $59.95 for a one off gift box.

Was it worth it?

This box is definitely the best men's style box that I have seen on the market in terms of the quality of the products. The pocket square and socks are high quality and fashionable. The snack yum! The soap is a nice high quality product as well. I wasn't too fussed on the cuff links and collar stays. I would have been just as happy without those items. Value wise this delivers over the price spent. I valued it at $65.

Who should buy this box? Stylish but busy men, or it makes a nice gift for the stylish man in your life.

Nourish Me Well Box review - January 2016

I have really enjoyed all the treats in the NourishMeWell January Box and I can see this box becoming a new favourite!

This box was kindly sent to me for review.

First look

The yummy goodies

Naturally Nood Bars: Cocoa Lamington
Size 3 x 35 grams
Value $5.24
NourishMeWell says - 'Naturally Nood takes healthy and fun and smooshes them together to create scrumptious wholefood bars, for added cheer in your life whenever you like. Full of wholefood ingredients to leave your bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, with no added nasties or boring bits to spoil the fun. A delightful romp for your taste buds without any ho hum, just lively, boisterus, taste and fun! Naturally Nood bars are available in the following flavours: apple rumble, cashew crunch, cocoa lamington, banana bread, cheeky cocoa, cacao organge tange, berry licious flavour.'
Yum! These are so tasty. I love these kinds of treats. So this was a winner for me.

Kitz Living Foods: Coconut Cream Classic
Full size 150 grams
Value $11.60
NourishMeWell says - 'This creation from the Kitz Living Foods kitchen is sweet, chewy coconut bliss. Their coconut dream range is made with an organic shredded coconut and brown rice syrup base together with the highest quality ingredients including organic dried fruit, cacao and vanilla. The coconut dream range is available in eight delectable flavours to make your taste buds sing including: classic, banana cocoa, caramel, cranberry, lemon fig, orange cream and tropical.'
Again another tasty snack! So good, it would be easy to eat all in one go. I have managed to pace myself though ;-)

Thinkfood: Pistachio Cranberry or Cashew Seasame Munch
Full size 140 grams
Value $5.50
NourishMeWell says - 'Thinkfood Munch is a sumptuous blend of slow dry-roasted nuts, seeds, dried fruits and a sprinkle of sea salt. The Thinkfood Munch range is a healthy snack free from dairy, gluten and wheat as well as artificial preservatives, colours and flavours. Thinkfood Munch is available in the following flavours: pistachio cranberry, cashew sesame, roasted almond, almond trail, cashew raspberry and pumpkin seed.'
I received the Pistachio Cranberry variety and it was salty and a little bit sweet. The pieces are lighter then they look. It's not super sticky like some cluster type snacks are. They come cut up into square chunks, which makes it easy to stick to one serve (5 squares equals 1 serve). I also like that it has a 4 star health rating. What do you guys think of the health stars? I've only just noticed them recently and I think that it is a pretty cool idea.

Byron Chai: Indian Spiced Tea
Full size 100 grams
Value $5.99
NourishMeWell says - 'This amazing blend of chai is made with black tea and finely grounded cassia (cinnamon), cilantro seed, nutmeg, ginger, fennel seed, cardamom seed, star anise and cloves. To make the perfect cup of chai use 50/50 water and milk together with 1 or 2 teaspoons of chai, bring to the boil, strain and serve.'
Yay! I love chai and this is a nice warm spicey chai. I'm loving this. I used my T2 Teamaker to make this.

Power Superfoods: Raw Organic Cacao Powder
Full size 125 grams
Value $7.95
NourishMeWell says - 'Cacao beans are the seeds of an Amazonian fruiting tree and source of all chocolate and cocoa products. Power superfoods never allow the temperature to exceed 40 degrees when creating the powder which means that tis is considered a 'raw' food with all heat-sensitive vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants remaining intact, thereby maximising digestion and absorption. Power Superfoods Cacao has over 360% more antioxidants than regular cocoa.'
We've tried this with our morning banana smoothie. It didn't add much of a chocolate kick but it still was nice. I'm sure it did me good though, having all those extra antioxidants (Aunty who? - I loved that ad!).

Sealand Birk: Birch Water
Full size 330ml
Value $4.95
NourishMeWell says - 'Forget coconut water - birch water is the craze everyone will be obsessed with in 2016. The detoxing super-liquid is the sap directly tapped from birch trees, it has many health benefits including restorative and detoxifying properties. It contains 'betuloside' which acts as a natural diuretic and 'saponin' which has beneficial effects on blood cholesterol levels and stimulates the immune system. Birch water is sweetened by xylitol which is naturally produced in birch tree wood and is known for medicinal qualities. This super liquid is available in the following flavours: original, elderflower and ginger and lime.'
This was much sweeter than I thought it would be. It almost tastes too good to be true! I had the original flavour. If I saw them in-store I'd definitely give either the elderflower or ginger and lime versions a whirl. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled to see if this really is the next trendy drink.

NourishMeWell Box has three different subscription options:

Gem Box review - January 2016

Gem Box is an Australian based jewellery subscription.

On the 1st of each month Gem Box sends out 3 - 4 pieces of jewellery suited to your style.

When you sign up you take a mini style quiz which consists of choosing a few items that you like. There's also a blank section for you to enter any additional comments. In this section I wrote that I have really tiny fingers and that I'd rather not receive rings as they never fit properly! I also wrote that I love statement necklaces.

Gem Box kindly sent this box to me for review and we are also running a giveaway. You can get all the details at the end of this review ;-)

First look

My Gem Box arrived all prettily packaged in brown paper tied with a cute twine.

The goodies

I wrote in my style quiz that I like statement necklaces. This is a long necklace, it falls to my belly button. You could layer it with shorter pieces if you wanted to. It's a bit hard to see in the photo but it has a row of bling across the top. The quality seems quite sturdy.

I plan to wear this necklace on the weekends to coffee with friends or a trip to the markets. I'm probably going to pair it with my cute green maxi skirt from PopBasic.

Wooden Bangles

I love bangles! And I don't have anything quite like this pair. These are probably my favourite item from the Gem Box. Hooray!

I received three pairs of earrings. Both the cupcakes and the gemstone earrings were items that I picked from the Style Quiz. The gem stone earrings are the ones that I expect will get the most wear. I love the cup cakes earrings and plan to wear them when celebrating Cup Cake Day.

I would assume that I got lucky with receiving five items, as the website says to expect 3 to 4 items each month. I'd love to hear what other Gem Box subscribers received this month.

How much does it cost?

Gem Box has three different subscription options:

  • Monthly - a month to month subscription costs $28 per month
  • 3 months - a prepaid 3 month subscription costs $75 (which is a saving of $9)
  • 6 months - a prepaid 6 month subscription costs $135 (which is a saving of $33).

Where does it ship to?

Gem Box ships Australia wide and the cost of shipping is included in the price.

Was it worth it?

I definitely feel that I received $28 worth of value. I love jewellery subscription boxes as they keep my look fresh and also I'm terrible at picking at jewellery, I get decision paralysis and end up walking away from the store with nothing. So having someone chose it and send it to me, works really well for me.

Who should buy it?

Gem Box is suited to those who suffer from indecisiveness when it comes to choosing jewellery. It will help you to mix it up and look good doing it.

Win a Gem Box

Gem Box have kindly offered to give away a Gem Box. Good luck!

What's your favourite pet subscription?

Do you subscribe to a box for your pet? I'd love to hear about your pet and their subscription box favorites.

I've just subscribed our Lulu to a Pet Parcel subscription. I used the code Doggymemes to save 13% off my first box.

Lulu is a 10 month old Lagotto Romanglo. She loves food and playing fetch.

Sock Flow review

Sockflow is a Norwegian based sock subscription that ships funky japanese socks world wide.

I love cute socks, why wear boring ones is my mantra!

The patterns are great and they do men's, women's and children's sock subscriptions.

Sockflow kindly sent me a women's subscription sample.

The socks

I received two socks.

Value $11 US

Value $11 US

How much does it cost?

Sockflow has eight different levels of subscriptions to cover off men's, women's and children's socks.

Two women's socks cost $20 US a month and includes free shipping world wide.

Was it worth it?

I thought these socks were super fun and good quality. I don't wear a lot of socks, so for me this would be an occasional subscription. But if you wore socks everyday and like fun socks, you should check out this subscription.

Who should buy it?

Sock lovers! It would also make a great gift for the corporate guy who likes to add a pop of sneaky fun into their everyday work wear.

December Bellabox products video

What did you think of the December Bellabox?

I'm excited by the video, it is very reminscent of the marketing that Birchbox does in the US. The presenters did a good job but I'd like to see them show a bit more of their own personality and sparkle.

Looking to subscribe to Bellabox for the first time? Visit this link to get $5 off your first box.
